Best 50 Cal Co2 Paintball and Less Lethal Pistols

Recently the market has been a huge explosion of 50 cal Co2 pistols. Umarex USA leads the way with their huge T4E line of paintball and less lethal guns. 50 cal paintball has opened the doors for both paintball and less lethal self-defense.

T4E HDP Pepper ball pistol

One of the most popular pistols is the T4E HDP pepper ball gun. This CO2 pistol is designed specifically for less lethal self-defense. It's ready to use right out of the box, all you need is 12gr Co2 cartridges and you're good to go. It comes with both 10 Nylon balls and 10 pepper balls.

The nylon balls are a great way to practice and are reusable, so you can safely practice. Also included are 10, 50 caliber pepper balls filled with PAVA synthetic pepper powder. It also features a Quick pierce Co2 system which is common theme through out many of the T4E guns. This feature allows you to keep the pistol loaded with ammo and Co2 but, it's not powered until you smack the bottom. of the magazine.

T4E HDP P2P Compact

This is very similar to original T4E HDP but, with some changes. It features the "Quick pierce" C02 system and it also includes 10 nylon and 10 pepper balls just like it's big brother. But the T4E HDP P2P compact only holds 4 rounds where the full size holds 6.

One of the other and more noticeable differences is the fact that it includes 2, 8 gram Co2 cartridges. Yes, in order to make this so compact they had to design it using 8 gram Co2 vs. the standard 12 gram cartridges. They are a bit harder to find but, that's the only way to design such a compact 50 cal Co2 pistol.

T4E TR50 50 Cal Revolver

T4E TR50 .50 caliber Co2 revolver is great! It can be used as a 50 cal paintball gun to have fun with and bring to your local field right out of the box. Or you can install the 11 joule valve and now it has enough power for less lethal self-defense.

With the standard valve right out of the box we chronoed it @328-330 FPS with a fresh 12gr Co2. The same gun with the 11 Joule valve installed and a fresh 12gr Co2 was shooting higher than the chrono could read, but that being said it tops out @550 FPS!

And we tried it over the chrono with heavier, .50 cal Nylon balls, and it still topped out the chrono. That being said, this is not something I would want to be shot with.

Only draw back is, if you change the valve you may not want to risk shooting a paint or pepper balls. The paintball most definitely will explode, the pepper ball I'm not sure of, nor am I willing to test it out. And You will also consume more Co2 per shot, which means you'll get less total number of shots per 12gr Co2, but more power per shot.
